Copycat Sonic Drive-In Ocean Water

Beware of the blue tongue side effect from this delicious drink!

3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon coconut extract
2 drops blue food coloring
2 12-ounce cans cold Sprite
ice, to fill 2 glasses
1. Combine the water and the sugar in a small bowl. Microwave for 30-45 seconds, then stir to dissolve all of the sugar.  Allow this syrup to cool.
2. Add coconut extract and food coloring to the cooled syrup.  Stir well.
3. Combine the syrup with two 12-ounce cans of cold Sprite.  Divide and pour over ice. Add straws and serve.
Makes two 12-ounce servings.

Copycat Joe’s Crab Shack Crab Dip

This recipes is always a hit at my parties!  People will be begging you for this recipe—feel free to share the secret with them!
2 oz Cream Cheese, softened
4 tsp. Diced Yellow Onion
1 Tbsp. Butter, softened)
4 tsp. Finely Diced Green Pepper
1/2 Cup Sour Cream
1/4 tsp. Seasoned Salt
1/8 tsp. Paprika
1 Tbsp. Mayonnaise
1/4 Cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1 (6 oz.) can Crab Meat (drained) **Use fresh crab meat if you can!
Fresh Diced Green Onion, for garnish
Fresh Chopped Parsley, for garnish
*optional* dash of hot sauce for a little kick

Mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream and butter until smooth. Blend in seasoned salt and paprika. Stir in yellow onions, crab meat, green pepper, and mozzarella cheese. Place in a lightly greased small shallow baking dish and place in a preheated oven at 350 degrees until mixture bubbles, about 10 - 14 minutes. Serve dip with unsalted or very lightly salted corn chips.
Serves 2-3 as an appetizer.

Copycat Hooters Hot Wing Sauce

3 Sticks Butter, softened
1/2 cup + 2 Tablespoons Tabasco Sauce
3 Tbs. Brown Sugar
3/4 tsp. Paprika
3/4 tsp. Salt
1 Tbs. Balsamic Vinegar
3/8 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
2 Tbs. Chili Sauce

Mix all ingredients together. This will store well in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.  Use this sauce to make Hooter’s Hot Wings.

Copycat Macaroni Grill Focaccia

Here is another classic copycat recipe from Volume 2 of America’s Most Wanted Recipes!
9 tablespoons olive oil, divided use
3 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsifted semolina flour
1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
1 1/2 tablespoons quick-rising dry yeast
1 1/2 cups hot milk (between 120 to 130 degrees F)
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary leaves

1. Pour a 1/2 tablespoon of the olive oil into a 9-inch square cake pan; spread to cover bottom and sides.
2. Place all-purpose flour, semolina flour, 2 tablespoons of the olive oil, 1/4 teaspoon of the salt and all of the yeast in the bowl of a mixer fitted with a dough hook or you can mix by hand.
3. Mix ingredients on medium speed. Reduce speed to low and slowly add hot milk. Increase the speed to medium and continue mixing for 5 minutes, then knead about 10 minutes by hand.
4. Dust the bottom of cake pan with a little flour. Remove dough from bowl and spread out evenly in pan. Cover with a towel and let it rest for 30 minutes.
5. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
6. Remove towel and brush dough with 1 to 2 tablespoons of the olive oil. Dust the top with additional salt and rosemary.  Bake for 20 minutes.
7. Remove from oven and drizzle with remaining oil.
Serves 6-8
