Chocolate Sauce for Ice Cream

1 egg
2 tbsp water
1 cup icing sugar
1/3 cup butter or margarine
2 squares unsweetened chocolate, cut in pieces
1/2 tsp vanilla


Put egg and water in double boiler and stir well. Add sugar, butter and chocolate, and cook, stirring constantly, until well blended, thick and smooth. Add vanilla.

Serve hot. Makes 1 cup.
