UNDECLARED PEANUT PROTEIN IN YOGOURT RAISINS PREPARED FOR JOHNVINCE FOODS

OTTAWA, January 27, 2006 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Les Aliments Johnvince are warning people with allergies to peanut protein not to consume Johnvince Foods Yogourt Raisins described below. The affected products contain peanuts which are not declared on the label.

The following Johnvince Foods products are affected by this alert:

1. Yogourt Raisins, sold in a 200g tub bearing lot # 6 509 2 and UPC 0 64777 51019 3.
2. Yogourt Raisins, sold in a 500g tub bearing lot # 6 509 2 and UPC 0 64777 51026 1.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of the affected products. These products have been distributed in Quebec.

Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to peanut protein.

Les Aliments Johnvince, Boucherville, Quebec is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

The affected product, Merit Selection Garden and Salad 10-Cut Wedge Potatoes, is sold frozen in a variable weight package. All codes are affected by this alert. This product has been distributed in Quebec.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to wheat protein.

Briska Inc., Montreal, Quebec, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

OTTAWA, January 11, 2006 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Island City Baking Company are warning people with allergies to egg protein not to consume Piccoli Fioretti Italian Bakery Cranberry Orange Coffee Cake. The affected product may contain egg protein which is not declared on the label.

The affected product, Piccoli Fioretti Italian Bakery Cranberry Orange Coffee Cake is sold in a 800 g package bearing the UPC 6 80129 05137 6. All best before codes are affected. This product has been distributed in several Costco stores in British Columbia.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to egg protein.

Island City Baking Company, Richmond, British Columbia, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
