INGREDIENTS:

* 1 package (10 ounces) frozen sliced strawberries in juice, thawed
* 1/2 cup light corn syrup
* dash salt

PREPARATION:
Blend berries in blender, processor, or with an electric mixer until smooth. Stir in syrup and salt. Transfer to a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to medium low and boil, stirring constantly, for about 5 minutes.

Makes about 1 1/2 cups of strawberry syrup.
I have been looking for a "Coffee Cake" that I had a recipe for in the early 60's. I guess it got lost in all my moves because I can't find it now. It was a weird recipe! The "batter" was almost like a pie dough, except sweet. It had to be pressed into the cake pan. Then you put some brown sugar and pecan chips onto the top and bake it. It was so light and sweet after it was baked. If anyone knows what that recipe was, I'd appreciate knowing it again.
