Question Naniamo Bars

How do you keep the Graham Cracker crust (on Naniamo Bars)
from crumbling. HAND

this recipe works well -

Bottom:
2 squares semi sweet chocolate
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoon sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
2 cups graham wafer crumbs
1 cup flake coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Filling:
2 tablespoon jello instant vanilla pudding(just the powder)
3 tablespoon milk
1/4 cup butter
2 cups icing sugar

Top:
4 squares semi sweet chocolate
1 tablespoon butter


Bottom: Melt chocolate squares over hot water. Add butter sugar vanilla and egg. Mix well. Add graham wafer crumbs and coconut and nuts. Press into 9 inch square pan. Chill for atleast 1 hour.

Filling: Combine vanilla pudding, milk, and butter. Beat until smooth. Spread over bottom. and chill 1 hour.

Top: Melt semi sweet chocolate with butter over hot water spread over filling and chill .

Nanaimo Dessert Bar Recipe
Famous Dessert Recipe
Preparation time: 30 minutes. Serves 12

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter (I use regular butter)
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 beaten egg
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions:
Put butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, and cocoa in top of double boiler
Stir well over simmering water until like a custard
Add crushed craker crumbs, walnuts and coconut
Pack mixture in 8 X 8 inch baking pan
Cut into 12 squares
Ice with white butter icing and sprinkle with coconut and refrigerate
