Default Re: Help! Wheat Bread recipe that is soft

This is my first post... sorry if i put it in the wrong place

i have been trying to find a bread recipe similar to this bread i have had recently at a restaurant. The bread is round/circular and (almost like a large roll) and maybe could be considered a round loaf?? They offer it in wheat and rosemary, i prefer the wheat.

The bread is put in individual portions on a baking pan and put in the oven or wherever they cook it... Once it is done, they remove it from the oven and just cut it like a bagel to make a sandwich.. so each batch is a bunch of individual sandwiches and not in the traditional loaf style, which seems to be the only kind of recipe i can find online.

Also, the bread does not have a crusty texture or crunch... It is softer than the average crust on a loaf on top.

Does anyone have a recipe that could mimic these attributes, or just an easy recipe that would allow me to make a few individual sandwiches like that.

Thanks

The shape and size is not important - it is the recipe. Bread dough can be shape in any fashion. So you want a soft wheat bread recipe?

When you say "wheat bread" I assume you mean "Whole Wheat Bread".
Here's a link with a good recipe. It isn't necessary to use the flour specified n the recipe, you can use any whole wheat or white wheat flour you like.

To make sandwich buns, just divide the dough into four small round loaves and roll then into the desired shape.

This bread recipe creates a rather slack dough so you may want to use a series of small oven proof dishes for proofing.
