Chicken Parts


There are an unlimited number of chicken products available, consisting of fresh, frozen, uncooked, fully cooked, and many heat-n-serve products. Many products are available unbreaded, breaded, seasoned, or marinated. Some products are made from formed chicken, which consists of chopped chicken pieces that are pressed and formed into specific shapes and used for products such as nuggets, patties, fillets, and tenders.

Whole Chickens

Available fresh, frozen, bone-in, boneless, uncooked, fully cooked, and seasoned.

Chicken Parts

Parts available are drumsticks, thighs, wings, and breasts. They are also available as legs (drumstick and thigh attached), leg quarters, breast quarters, breast halves, and poultry halves. Wingettes and drummettes are available from the wing. Chicken products taken from the breast and wing are considered white meat and the products taken from the drumstick and thigh are considered dark meat. The chicken parts are available uncooked, fresh and frozen. Various parts are also available boneless, fully cooked or seasoned.

Chicken Breasts



One of the most popular chicken parts available, the chicken breast, can be purchased in many different forms. They are considered white meat and are available fresh and frozen in various cuts, such as whole breasts, breast quarters and breast halves. They can be found bone-in, boneless, skin-on, skinless, uncooked, fully cooked, breaded, and unbreaded. They are available seasoned with flavors such as lemon pepper, BBQ Mesquite and Italian. Chicken breasts are also used to make other chicken products.

Chicken Wings


Chicken wings, another very popular chicken product, are available in many forms. They are considered white meat and can be found uncooked, fully cooked, breaded, and unbreaded. They are available marinated, barbecued or glazed, and seasoned with spicy and rotisserie flavorings. Buffalo wings are chicken wings served as a popular finger food which are generally available in varying degrees of hotness, from mild to fiery hot and in various flavors, such as BBQ, honey BBQ, Mexican BBQ, honey Dijon, oriental, and teriyaki. Wingettes and drummettes are also available from the wing.

Chicken Cutlets


Cutlets are boneless chicken breasts or legs that have been pounded to tenderize and to provide a piece of meat that is more uniform in thickness, allowing the meat to cook more evenly. Cutlets are generally boneless and skinless, and are available breaded, unbreaded, uncooked, fully cooked, and seasoned with various flavors.

Chicken Thighs

Thighs are considered dark meat and are available fresh, frozen, bone-in, boneless, skin-on, skinless, uncooked, fully cooked, breaded, and unbreaded. They can also be found seasoned and marinated.

Drumstick


The drumstick is the bottom portion of the leg below the knee joint and consists of all dark meat. Drumsticks are considered dark meat and can be found fresh or frozen and are generally available with the skins on.

Chicken Fillets


Fillets of meat sliced from the chicken breast, which are available uncooked, fully cooked, breaded, unbreaded, and seasoned with flavors, such as BBQ mesquite, lemon pepper and Italian.

Chicken Breast Strips


Chicken breast cut into strips, which are available uncooked, fully cooked, breaded, unbreaded, and seasoned with flavors, such as barbecue, garlic and herb, teriyaki, grilled, Southwestern, and fajita. Strips are found cut in various widths.

Chicken Tenders


Tenders, which are part of the chicken breast, are full pieces or chunks of chicken tenderloins, which are available uncooked, fully cooked, breaded, unbreaded, and seasoned with flavors, such as barbecue, buffalo, and sweet-and-sour.

Giblets

The giblets consists of the neck, liver, heart, and gizzard.
