Slow Cooker Soups
White Bean with Fennel Soup
Ingredients- 4 cups SwansonŽ Vegetable Broth (Regular or Certified Organic)
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 small bulb fennel, trimmed and sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (10 ounce) package frozen leaf spinach, thawed
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (16 ounce) can white kidney beans (cannellini), undrained
Procedure- Stir the broth, black pepper, fennel, onion and garlic in a 5 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours.
- Add the spinach, tomatoes and beans. Turn the heat to HIGH. Cover and cook for 1 hour or until the vegetables are tender.

Slow Cooker Soups: Barbecued Bean Soup
Barbecued Bean Soup
Ingredients
1 lb Great Northern beans, soaked
2 tsp Salt
1 med Onion, chopped
1/8 tsp Ground pepper
2 lb Beef short ribs
6 cup Water
3/4 cup Barbecue sauce
Procedure
Place all ingredients in Slow Cooker except barbecue sauce Cover and cook on Low 10 to 16 hours. Before serving, remove short ribs and cut meat from bones. Return meat to Slow Cooker. Stir in barbecue sauce before serving

Slow Cooker Soups: Budget-Friendly Hearty Winter
Budget-Friendly Hearty Winter
PREP TIME: 15 Min
COOK TIME: 5 Hrs
READY IN: 5 Hrs 15 Min
Ingredients- 2 sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 head cabbage, coarsely chopped
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- 1 pound turkey bratwurst, sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 3 cups chicken broth
Procedure- Place the sweet potatoes, cabbage, and carrots into a slow cooker, then place the bratwurst slices on top of the vegetables. Sprinkle with the salt, thyme, rosemary, and pepper. Pour the wine and chicken broth over the vegetables.
- Cook on Low until the sweet potatoes are easily pierced with a fork, 5 to 6 hours

Slow Cooker Soups: Alphabet Beef Soup
Alphabet Beef Soup
Ingredients
1/2 pound sirloin steak
1 can Italian-style diced tomatoes -- (16 ounces)
1 can tomato sauce -- (8 ounces)
3 cups water
3 beef bouillon cubes
1 package frozen mixed vegetables -- (16 ounces)
1/2 cup uncooked alphabet noodles
Procedure
Cut meat into small cubes. In a slow cooker, combine meat, tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, bouillon, and vegetables. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until meat is tender. Turn control to high. Add noodles. Cover and cook on high for 15 to 20 minutes or until noodles are cooked.

A well stocked supermarket should have them. They are with the other dry pasta.
