Default Cottage Stew

Cottage Stew

1 pounds lean beef cut in 1" cubes
2 tablespoon flour
2 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoon corn oil
2 celery ribs cut in chunks
1 cup beef stock
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoon chopped parsley

Brown meat in butter and oil. Combine meat and remaining ingredients, except lemon juice and parsley, and place in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours.

Stir in lemon juice and parsley and serve with toast, noodles or potatoes.

Default Re: Cottage Stew

Am I wrong or can any slow cooker recipe be done in a pressure cooker, lowering the cooking time, of course?

I think just about any recipe can be converted - this Cottage Stew can be done on the swtove top or in the oven. As for the pressure cooker - there may be a stew recipe posted - check out the SEARCH and type in pressure cooker - that cold give you the time, etc.
I hope this helps -
