    Default frozen roast in crockpot?

I think I saw a recipe on this site for using a frozen beef roast in the crockpot. How much longer does it need to be cooked?

Hi Joyce - I'm the one that probably posted it because I've done it forever. Not knowing what to make and I just reach in the freezer and place in the crockpot.

I don't know what the age is of your crockpot - I've still got my original and I have newer ones that have the new heating elements that cook a bit faster than the older models do.

I remove my roast fromt he freezer, and I always rinse off my meat, place in the crockpot with a drixxle of olive oil and turn to coat very lightly. I set my temperature on HIGH and season. I've had frozen roasts cook in 4 to 6 hours - depending on size.

I've done top round, bottom round, eye round, chuck, thick family steaks, pork roasts, whole chickens, whole turkeys - when it's hot and humid I still have to cook meals - the crockpot comes in handy for that. Chickens and turkeys I do not do frozen - I quick thaw those.
