Default Smooth Sweet Tea

fixings (Nutrition)
one pinch saleratus
two cups boiling water
six tea bags
three fourths cup white sweets
six cups cool water
How to do it
Sprinkle one pinch of saleratus into one 64-ounce, heat-proof, glass pitcher. Pour in boiling water, and add tea bags. Cover, and allow to steep for 1five minutes.
Remove tea bags, and discard; stir in sweets until dissolved. Pour in cool water, then refrigerate until cold.

Sounds great(I think)but what is Saleratus and White sweets? I'm in the UK,perhaps we know these items under different names

I never heard of saleratus either, but after looking it up on the internet I found it is baking soda/sodium bicarbonate. White sweets is white sugar/caster sugar.
