Default 4th of July Cocktails

Here are some great cocktail ideas for your 4th of July picnics and parties this coming weekend!

If you’re feeling patriotic:

The Minute Man

1 ½ oz Oval Vodka
1 ½ oz fresh sweet & sour
¼ oz simple syrup
splash of ginger ale
garnish with a lemon wheel

Shake first three ingredients with ice in a shaker; strain into an iced highball glass, top with ginger ale, garnish with lemon wheel.

If you’re feeling ambitious:

The Golden Cup by Charles Vexenat

2 oz. Beefeater 24
1 oz. Hiram Walker Orange Curacao
1 oz. Amontillado Sherry
1/8 Granny Smith apple (diced)
1 inch cucumber (diced)
Soda to top

Bruise apple and cucumber. Add ice and other ingredients. Stir and decant into a wine or Collins glass. Garnish with a mint sprig.

A couple of these should light your fuse... Be carful not to drink and drive these will creep up on you.

Long Island Iced Tea

6 ice cubes
1/2 jigger gin
1/2 jigger vodka
1/2 jigger white rum
1/2 jigger tequila
1/2 jigger Cointreau
1 jigger fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon sugar syrup (see note)

coca cola original
Lemon slice, to decorate
Put the ice cubes in a mixing glass. Add the gin, vodka, rum, tequila, Cointreau, lemon juice and sugar syrup. Stir well, and then strain into a tall glass filled with ice cubes. Add enough Coca Cola to fill the glass, and decorate with the slice of lemon.
Note: To make sugar syrup, heat 1-cup sugar and 1-cup water in a small saucepan until the sugar dissolves.
