Hot Spiced Wassail
Got this recipe from a small town in Beulah Colorado. I make this every year at Christmas time, it's traditional around my house. On a cold winter night I love to pour myself a hot cup of wassail and sit by the fire place with a good book in hand. The first time you make this it's a little expensive but once you have the spices it's not to bad.
1 gallon apple cider (NOT apple juice)
1 Quart cranberry juice
1 cup sugar
2 cups frozen canned orange juice
16 whole cloves (not 1 over, not 1 less)
1 teaspoon whole allspice
1 stick of cinnamon
Put cloves and allspice in a medal loose tea holder and simmer with your apple cider mixture on stove for 20 minutes. The following day remove the
spices, reheat and serve in a mug with a thin orange slice.
