Get Complications Control (Diabetes)

When people with diabetes develop one complication, they often worry that they'll inevitably develop others. It's true that if high blood glucose can lead to one problem, it can certainly cause more, but you can use this knowledge to your advantage.
Knowing that you have high blood glucose is the first step toward controlling it. If you lower your blood glucose levels, you'll also reduce your chances of developing another complication. Also, lowering your glucose levels is one of the best ways to keep your existing complication from getting worse.

Lowering your blood glucose, however, is often easier said than done. If you've ever tried to get your blood glucose under control, you know how much time and effort it takes. If you do develop a complication, try to keep it in perspective. Some people say that getting a complication made them see their lives differently; the complication was both a blow and a wake-up call that made them take a hard look at how they were managing their diabetes.

Talk to your health care provider about things you can do to increase your chances of living the rest of your life without complications.
