Default The Basic Principles of Good Health

Principles of Good Health
by Susana Lombardi

Is the chronic stress of today's hectic lifestyle leaving you drained, depleted, perpetually tired and irritable? Perhaps you agree with Nobel prize winner, Albert zent-Gyorgi that "Very few people know what real health is, because most are occupied with killing themselves slowly."

In reality, nature created you to feel good. Wouldn't it be great to start rejuvenating your system by spending a week at a health spa? No time? Then consider incorporating the following tips into your lifestyle.

Don't eat all day long! Drink all day long!
Every time you eat, your body has to work to break down the food before the body can use the nutrients. The more work you give your body to do, the more wear and tear on the body, the sooner the parts of your body will give out and the shorter your life span will be. Just like any other machine.

Give your body a break!
Choose one day a week to eat lightly. For example, fruit for breakfast, salad for lunch, soup for dinner. this will help you to keep in good shape.

When we say drink all day...
That included water, lemon water, herbal teas, juices, power drinks, etc. Drink half your weight in ounces of liquids per day. For example, if you weigh 100 pounds, you would drink 50 ounces of liquid each day. This is not only water, but all the liquids mentioned above.

Never go to bed with a full stomach
Do your best to have dinner early. Do some light activity before retiring. This helps with digestion. Eat slowly, chew thoroughly and have a calm and relaxing atmosphere while eating. If you are angry or upset do not eat. Drink instead. Drinking a warm tea will soothe your system. Once you are calm, then you can eat your solid food.

Avoid fried foods
Choose grilled, steamed, broiled, or lightly sauteed foods instead. Animal fat, fried foods and dairy products clog your arteries and are the major cause of most health problems: obesity, cholesterol, heart conditions, cancer, arteriosclerosis, etc. Use good fats like vegetable oils, cold pressed virgin olive oil, flaxseed oil, avocado and almond oil.

Avoid using sugar or low calorie sugar substitutes
Switch to Stevia. Stevia comes in a powder or liquid form. It has no calories, helps your pancreas and is a natural product made from the chrysanthemum flower.

Let go of sodas and coffee!
Sodas are either full of sugar or artificial sweetener. When you want something sweet, try juices like peach and watermelon. Or have a piece of fruit like an apple or an orange. These foods are naturally sweet and refreshing. Your body will appreciate the energy from these foods. As a coffee replacement use My Whey made out of goat's milk whey. It looks and tastes like instant coffee. All you do is add hot water and you have instant energy, because it contains lots of minerals and protein. Another good coffee replacement is Yerba Mate tea.

Let go of table salt
Table salt is not a food. It is a chemical. It is addictive, and contributes to elevated blood pressure and water retention. Change to Bio Salt, or add garlic and cayenne to flavor your food.
