okra soup

l large beef bone with some meat 2 medium onions [chopped]3 lbs fresh okra chopped fine salt, pepper and bay leaf. 1 piece smoked bacon 2 cans of No. 2 1/2 tomatoes. 3 qts water. cook meat in water on low heat for 2 hrs. Add okra, bacon, tomatoes, bay leaf, onions, salt and pepper to taste. cook for 2 more hrs; add more water if necessary. Best served over hot rice.
