Question Substitutes

Has anyone found a sugar-free recipe for a clear corn syrup? I found an easy sugar-free for brown sugar: 1 cup Splenda + 1/4 cup sugar free pancake syrup, It is supposed to deliver the sweetening of 1 cup of brown sugar. I liked it in my holiday
cookies.
Also, KW or B-man or Aline or readers, when a candy recipe [brittle or chocolate] calls for a buttered foil, can a silpat be used instead to eliminate fat ?
Many thanx to all this year for sharing such interesting recipes. Kathy

Kathy - I know you can cool caramel and brittles on silpat and use it for rolling fondant and gum pastes.

I only have the Splenda brown sugar and confectioners' sugar recipes -but I will check with the gals from my recipe club on the corn syrup for you.

SPLENDA BROWN SUGAR

This recipe is designed to help you replace brown sugar in your dessert recipes.

Makes: enough to replace 1 cup standard brown sugar

1 cup SPLENDA No Calorie Sweetener, Granular
1/4 cup Sugar-Free Maple Syrup (made with SPLENDA Brand Sweetener)

Pour ingredients into a small mixing bowl and mix well. Use as brown sugar in your favorite baked recipes where brown sugar is required. Makes 1/4 cup (enough to replace 1 cup of standard brown sugar).

SPLENDA POWDERED SUGAR
MAKES ½ CUP

3/4 cup SPLENDA Granular
2 Tbsp. Cornstarch

Place ingredients in blender jar. Cover and blend until SPLENDA® Granular is a very fine powder.
Use instead of powdered sugar for garnishing cakes and pastries.
