Rhubarb Custard Pie



4 Cups Cut Rhubarb
2 Eggs
1 Tbsp Milk
1/3 Cup Flour
1½ Cups Sugar
1 Tbsp Butter



Mix Eggs, Flour, Milk & Sugar With Butter. Pour Over Rhubarb. Bake At 425°f For 45 – 50 Minutes.

5 Cups Flour
4 Tsp Baking Powder
½ Cup Icing Sugar
½ Cup Butter Or ¾ Cup Lard
4 Egg Yolks In A Cup, Fill Rest With Cream & If Not Enough Add
Milk To Make 1 Cup

Fill With Jam

Topping:

4 Egg Whites
1/8 Tsp Salt
2 Cups Brown Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla
1 Cup Coconut

Shortbread Cookies (grandma Chambers)

¾ Cup Corn Starch
1 Cup Butter
½ Cup Icing Sugar

1¼ Cup Flour
Pinch Salt
Add Vanilla



Cream Butter & Icing Sugar, Add Flour & Cornstarch. Mix Well. Roll To ¼ Inch. Bake At 350°f Until Golden.

Steak In Tomato Sauce (grandma Fekete)


1 Tsp Dry Mustard
¼ Tsp Pepper
Pinch Garlic Salt
¼ Cup Flour
2 Lbs ½ Inch Steak


Roll Meat In Ingredients. Brown Meat In 2 Tablespoons Fat. Drain Excess Fat. And Add:

2 Med Onions
½ Cup Chopped Celery
1 Bay Leaf
2½ Cups Tomato Juice


Cover & Cook.

Spiced Doughnuts



3½ Cups Flour
2 Tsp Baking Powder
1 Tsp Baking Soda
¾ Cup Nutmeg
½ Tsp Cinnamon

1 Tsp Salt
2 Eggs
3 Tbsp Butter
1 Cup Sugar
¾ Cup Sour Milk



Sift Dry Ingredients.
Beat Eggs, Add Butter & Sugar.
Add Milk & Gradually Add Flour Mixture.
Beat Until Smooth.
Chill For 1 Hour.

2 Lbs Spare Ribs
2 Tbsp Cooking Oil
1 – 15 Oz Can Spaghetti Sauce
1 – 15 Oz Can Peas & Carrots, Drained
1 Lg Onion, Sliced
½ Cup Chopped Celery
Brown Sugar & Vinegar To Taste

Brown Meat, Garlic Cloves (sauté). Stir Cook. Tomato Paste. Add Tomato Juice – Bring To A Boil. Following Basil, Oregano, Parsley, Crushed Chile’s, Parmesan Cheese, Salt & Pepper

Walnut Squares (grandma Fekete)


Bottom: ½ Cup Butter
½ Cup White Sugar
2 Egg Yolks
2 Cups Flour

Mix & Press Into Bottom Of Lightly Greased 9 X 13-inch Pan.


Topping: 2 Egg Whites – Beaten Stiff
Pinch Salt
2 Cups Brown Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla
1 Cup Finely Chopped Walnuts


(bake) Cut Into Squares While Still Hot.

found a couple more that i never posted...


RASPBERRY SQUARES (TOBACCO BOOK)

BOTTOM:
½ CUP SOFT BUTTER
1 CUP FLOUR
1 TSP BAKING POWDER
1 EGG (BEATEN)
1 TBSP MILK

TOPPING:
½ CUP RASPBERRY JAM
2 TBSP SOFT BUTTER
1 CUP SUGAR
1 EGG
1 TSP VANILLA
2 CUPS FINE COCONUT


COMBINE & SPREAD IN GREASED 8 X 8-INCH PAN. SPREAD JAM & THEN MIX THE REMAINING INGREDIENTS.

BAKE AT 325°F UNTIL BROWN.

Ham Glaze (aunt Vi)

½ Cup Honey
1 Cup Brown Sugar
½ Cup Orange Juice
1 Can Peaches


Cook Ham For 2 Hours & Score Then Baste Frequently Three Or Four Times.

Buns (mary Gethons)


2 Pkgs Yeast
1½ Cups Lukewarm Water Mix Together
1½ Tsp Sugar

2 Tbsp Shortening Or Butter
1 Tsp Salt
¾ Cup White Sugar
¾ Cup Warm Water
Flour


Mix Yeast, Water & Sugar Together.

Pour 1¾ Cup Hot Water Over Shortening, Set Aside Until Yeast Rises.

Beat 1 Egg.

Put Yeast Into 2nd Mixture & Add Flour. Knead & Put In Covered Dish In Fridge Overnight.

In Morning, Let Rise In Warm Place.

Bake At 400 – 450°f.
