Spaghetti - Oklahoma Style
1 tbsp. shortening
3/4 lbs. ground beef
3/4 cup onion, chopped
1 small garlic clove
1-1/4 cup tomato puree
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 cups water
3/4 cup carrots, chopped
3/4 cup celery, chopped
1-1/2 cup uncooked spaghetti
2 cups grated cheese
Brown meat, onions and garlic in shortening. Combine tomato puree, chili powder, Worcestershire Sauce, sugar and salt and add to meat.
Cook celery and carrots until tender in the 2 cups of water. Add to the meat mixture.
Cook spaghetti in salt water until tender. Combine all except the cheese. Pour into a 6x12 inch baking dish and sprinkle the cheese over the top.
Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Serves 8.
