Outstanding all-purpose marinade!
This is a great marinade for beef, chicken, pork, or even fish. It also makes a great dipping sauce for chinese dumplings or fondu. Unlike your traditional teriyaki-type marinades, this one has more depth and a slight touch of heat that will really turn your dish into something special.
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 TBS brown sugar
1/4 cup plum sake (you can also use regular sake or cream sherry)
4 TBS honey
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp ground ginger
1 TBS hoisin sauce
1 tsp chili sauce
1 tsp chili oil
1/4 cup chopped green onions
pour all ingredients into a bowl and whisk until combined. Stores very well in the refrigerator. Is a great marinade for stir fry, and superb for grilling meats. Simply marinate the meat of your choice overnight. Reserve some for basting BEFORE placing your meat into the marinade, to prevent potential illness. Enjoy!
