Long story short - had to go to a shower - with this heat only 2 of us had air conditioned kitchens to bake in (not me unfortunately) so I passed out this recipe and Dessert Guy?s Black Forest Cheesecake - everyone enjoyed them and the recipes were passed around to everyone!

EASY COFFEE CAKE

1 cup sugar
1/2cup brown sugar
2/3cup oleo
2 eggs
1 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 cups flour
1 cup buttermilk(if I don't have the buttermilk, I use 1 Tbls lemon juice and enough milk to measure 1 cup mixed well.)

TOPPING:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Combine sugars, soda, baking powder, oleo, salt, and eggs. Blend in buttermilk. stir in flour. Pour into greased 9x13 pan. Mix topping and sprinkle over batter. bake at 350* 1 hour.
