Stilton Stuffed Bison Burgers
Since I am the only one home tonite I will be making these for my pleasure...
Stilton Stuffed Bison Burger
1 lb ground bison ( buffalo )
3 Tbls crumbled Stilton cheese ( this is an English blue cheddar )
lemon pepper to taste
salt and pepper to taste
hot sauce to taste
Crushed garlic
1 small onion sliced
1 Tbls butter
Divide the burger into 4 equal pieces. Place these on a large piece of waxed paper ( enough to be able to fold over the meat with room to spare ).
Use your rolling pin to flatten the meat very thin. Place the cheese on 2 of the patties, lemon pepper, hot sauce , lemon pepper, and salt and pepper to taste. Place the other 2 patties on top of the ones with cheese and seal the edges well.
Place butter in a medium hot cast iron skillet and bring to aunute ( brown but not burning ). Add the crushed garlic and sliced onion. Saute' until the garlic is browned, remove the garlic. Add the burgers to the skillet and cook for about 8 minutes a side, reduce the heat and cook until done to your liking.
