Default Mississippi Moo Burgers

Tonight's dinner is Mississippi Moo Burgers, Grilled Steak Fries, Salad and Sun Ice Tea.

MS Moo Burgers
1 1/2 lbs ground round
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
3-4 Tbsp minced onion, fresh
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups cornflakes, crushed

Mix everything thoroughly except crushed cornflakes. Gently stir in cornflake crumbs. Divide mixture to make eight ( patties 3/4" thick. Grill until desired doneness is reached.

Grill steak fries just until they start to get crisp.

For one gallon sun tea, I use 7-8 regular or 2-3 family size teabags to one gallon cold water. Glass containers are best but plastic will work also. Leave outside in direct sun for 6-8 hours. Leftover tea must be refrigerated and/or boiled before consuming. This tea never has a bitter after taste. I have forgotten it outside and used the next day (after boiling it, of course)!

Why do you have to boil the sun tea? I have made it before but never knew it had to be boiled.

sun tea can harbor bacteria that boiled tea or refrigerated tea doesn't

Hi,
I have a recipe to share but don't know what to click on for a new thread, so, here it is.
Barbecued beef/pork or sloppy joe
This was a recipe from my mom. She used it with chuck roast, pork roast, and ground beef.
one pound chuck roast, pork roast, or ground beef 6 tbsps. ketchup, 6 tbsps. granulated sugar, 6 tbsps. vinegar, 2 tbsps. worcestershire sauce (she always used lee N perrin"s)
Brown ground beef in a saucepan. Add remaining ingreadients except buns and stir well. Cook covered on medium low heat for at least 30 minutes. Yield 8 servings. This ratio can be used per pound of any of the kinds of meat listed above. I've also used it with cooked chicken and ground turkey.a

You don't have to boil the sun tea if you don't feel like it. But leave it unrefrigerated for a few hours and look at the film that appears. Better to be safe than sorry in my book. Doesn't change the taste at all just makes it safer to drink.
