Alphabet soup/steak sandwiches

With power outages and ice pellets hitting the windows, we need something nice and warm today!

Alphabet soup - made chicken stock: chicken, seasonings, onion, celery, carrot; skim; strain; freeze extra broth and use remaining broth to make alphabet soup - added sliced carrots and celery; cooked till just about tender; added alphabet pasta, frozen peas and frozen corn.

Served with homemade bread for soppin'!

For dinner: steak, cut into sandwich portions, fried until tender in olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper and parsley, with onions and mushrooms; made pan gravy - served open-faced on crusty rolls; green salad.
