ISO: Cheap and easy lunch/dinner recipes.
I am ISO cheap and easy lunch/dinner ideas. DH is sick of the same things all the time. Meatloaf, beef stew, pasta, baked chicken is really it.
I have a hard time eating meat other than ground beef and chicken breast. I love fish, but DH does not.
So I am just looking for some cheap and easy recipes, with nothing fancy-schmancy in them. My DH is picky when it comes to fancy thing.
Thanks all!
I am going shopping on friday, with 200$ and I need this food to last for 3 weeks!!!

Welcome momto 3kitties!
If you go to the Recipe Exchange and type into the Search - casseroles, meals, one-pot meals, etc. the search engine will bring up many different posts for you to view. Also check out our Ingredients threads for more ideas.
At our sister site www.foodals.com I have a group called Bastardize It with ideas for making meals from pantry items, etc. I also have groups for Preparing more than Dinner, 365 Days of Meals, etc. for more ideas. Stop by and check them out.
You c an also check out our Crockpot Recies here and Favorites as well. And we have threads for Leftovers as well - lease try our search engines - there are tons of recipes here.

Re: ISO: Cheap and easy lunch/dinner recipes.
Welcome momto3kitties!
Here is a recipe given to our family by a family friend. We were told that it was originally given to her by a lady named Mrs. Giose Carpenter. It's meatless, not expensive, very good and also very filling
Beans and Pasta (Pasta Fagioli)
2 c. navy beans
1 can tomatoes
2-3 stalks of celery, with leaves, slliced
1/3 - 1/2 c. olive oil
1/2 t. dried oregano
2 cloves garlic, mashed
1 1/2 c. elbow macaroni
salt & pepper
Pick the beans over, removing stones and debris, wash them and put them to soak overnight. Drain the beans, rinse, cover with water and bring to a boil. Add the garlic and simmer 1/2 hour. Add celery, olive oil and oregano. When beans are tender add the tomatoes, pasta and a bit more water to cook the pasta if necessary. Cook about 20 minutes more, until pasta is done. Correct seasoning with salt & pepper. This dish should be thick.
Hope this helps.

Re: ISO: Cheap and easy lunch/dinner recipes.
Here is a pasta/beef recipe that is easy.
1lb gr. beef
1pkg penne pasta
1 jar brown gravy
1 jar spagetti sauce (we like tomato basil)
1 cup 1/2 and 1/2 (can use milk instead)
parmesan cheese to taste (1/8 cup or so)
mozzarella cheese - shredded
Brown ground beef and cook pasta. Combine all ingredients except mozzarella. Put in 9x13 pan, add mozzarella to taste and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Even better the next day!
