I know there is breadcrumbs in this and also parmeasan cheese - has anyone ever tried this? I can't get the Italian Meatball Mix here and thought maybe someone knew what all goes into this?

crissybird -

this may be just a normal meatball recipe - ground beef (or ground round or ground sirloin - many Italians use a mixture of ground chuck, ground pork and ground veal), egg, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, parsley, Italian seasoning (if using plain breadcrumbs - some use Italian flavored breadcrumbs which you don't need to add Italian seasoning), garlic and grated Parmesan or Pecorino-Romano and a small can of tomato sauce. Fry in a bit of olive oil with garlic cloves or bake in the oven.

Some supermarkets sell Italian meatball mix (ground chuck, ground pork and ground veal) already made up. If mixing your own - you can use 1/2 lb. of each or more ground chuck than pork and veal.
