Re: Crockpot Rottisserie Chicken
Crockpot Rotisserie Chicken
1 Whole Chicken (I cooked a 6 pound chicken)
Olive Oil Cooking Spray
Lawry's Seasoned Salt (no substitutes)
Aluminum foil
Clean chicken inside and out. Spray with olive oil spray. Sprinkle with Lawry's. Spray inside of crock-pot with cooking spray. (Do not put any water in the crock-pot). Roll some wads of aluminum foil into balls and put them in the bottom of the crock-pot. The chicken is going to sit on these. Put chicken back side down in crock-pot on top of aluminum balls. Cook on high for 4-6 hours.

Re: Crockpot Rottisserie Chicken
I made this chicken today and, while it was very tasty, I was disappointed that it wasn't like supermarket rotisserie chicken at all. The skin wasn't brown and crisp.

Re: Crockpot Rottisserie Chicken
That is the bad thing abour crockpots - you won't get meat that is crisp at all - everything comes out tender and "soft".
There is no way a crockpot can give you chicken anywhere near rotisserie style.

Re: Crockpot Rottisserie Chicken
I didn't think so, but thought I would give it a try. Like I said, it was tasty, so not a total loss.

Re: Crockpot Rottisserie Chicken
Crockpots do a good job - the taste is there and the tenderness - they just don't crisp well. At least it wasn't a total loss. There was a picture of it originally posted - by SM deleted that with the recipe. I was only able to salvage the recipe.

Re: Crockpot Rottisserie Chicken
Does the chicken brown or stay sort of uncooked looking?

Re: Crockpot Rottisserie Chicken
Patty - the chicken will brown just a bit - it will be cooked through with no problem - it just won't be crispy and real brown.
