Default Cranberry Apple Chutney

1 (12 OZ.) Pkg. fresh cranberries
2 medium apples, chopped
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup golden or dark raisins
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
1 (3 inch) cinnamon stick
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup cider vinegar

1. In large saucepan, combine all ingredients and mix well. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer 40 to 45 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Cool at least 3 hours.
2. Remove cinnamon stick. Spoon chutney into a crock or jar. Store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

NOTE: If you enjoy giving home made food gifts you will like this recipe.
When giving as a gift always attach a label. Write your name, list the ingredients and make some suggestions for using the gift. Remember to indicate that the chutney should be refrigerated. This chutney is a great condiment for baked ham, pork or roast turkey.

Thanks Crystalia, Haven't made this chutney for a couple of years but pulled it out of my recipe box the other day and plan on getting a jump start on small xmas gifts for all my neighbors. Recipe came from my sister in law many years ago, she lives in Colorado.
I live in California and most people hear have never heard of chutney. I realy like serving it with my Christmas ham, again thanks
