Delmonico Potatoes
Note:These rich, cheesy potatoes are perfect for a large family gathering or a potluck supper.
1 cup milk
1 cup heavy cream
1-1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1-1/2 pounds shredded sharp cheddar cheese
9 medium potatoes, cooked, peeled and shredded (about 11 cups)
In a saucepan, heat milk, cream, salt, dry mustard, pepper and nutmeg over medium heat. Add cheese, stir until melted. Place potatoes in a greased
13in. x 9in. x 2 in. baking dish. Pour cheese over potatoes. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes...Serves 12 to 16
