Dump Cake

Note: I think almost everybody has made dump cake but for those of you who haven't it's a must try. Doesn't get any easier than this recipe. This recipe came from my mother in law and I have made it many times in the past 25 plus years

Filling:
one (20 oz.) can cherry pie filling
one (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice

Crust:
1 yellow boxed cake mix
1 stick cold butter

Dump cherries and pineapple with juice into a 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle cake over fruit. Slice butter into thin pats and evenly arrange on top of cake mix. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature with Cool Whip or vanilla ice cream.
