Copycat Carl’s Jr. Chicken Club

A friend of mine called me from the west coast earlier this week; he couldn’t stop raving about this burger joint called Carl’s Jr.  The name sounded foreign to me since we don’t have any in my neck of the woods.  So I decided to look up the Carl’s Jr website and then I hit the kitchen.  I recreated this Chicken Club sandwich and my taste buds were more than happy!

Think Hardee’s they are part of the same company. Also alfalfa sprouts at either Hardee’s or Carl Jr.’s I don’t think so.

If I had a Hardees or Carl Jr’s, I would give it a try… Thats probably where the use the microwave oven came in … 15 sec ? Or just to melt the cheese !!!

I just made this night before last for dinner and everyone LOVED it, the teryaki marinated chicken really gives it alot of flavor.

Karl Karcher, the originator of Carl’s Jr., is an icon in Anaheim California where I grew up. I lived just down the block from his very nice spanish style home.

His first burger joint style restaurants were the progenitor of many famous and now competing name “quick food” hamburger establishments. I wish Carl’s had kept their original recipes. Like the trend though, they moved toward healthy!
