The Top 10 Trans-Fattiest Foods
Trans fat is dangerous. While many processed foods now boast "no trans-fats!" on the label, don't assume they're all free of this very unhealthy fat.

One of the four types of fats found in food, trans fat is vegetable oil that has been treated with hydrogen so it becomes more solid and has a longer shelf life. It is frequently used in baked goods, such as doughnuts, breads, crackers, potato chips and cookies, as well as many other processed food products, such as stick margarine and salad dressings. Trans fats are often listed as "partially hydrogenated oils."

David Zinczenko, author of "Eat This, Not That: The No-Diet Weight Loss Solution," has identified the 10 trans-fattiest foods in the grocery store. When you read this list, note that the American Heart Association recommends we limit trans fat to less than 2 grams a day.

At the top of the list is Drake's Cherry Fruit Pie. "Individually-wrapped snacks are a festering cesspool of partially hydrogenated oils," writes Zinczenko. "With these mini pies, you'll gobble down more than four days' worth of trans fat! Make sure you have your doctor on speed dial."
