Chocolate Caramel Pecan Cookies

1 cup Margarine
1/4 cup Lightly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup Granulated sugar
1 Egg
1 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla
2 cups All-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1/4 teaspoon Salt
6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
1 cup Caramels, quartered
1/4 cup Coarsely chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 375F. Cream margarine, sugars, egg and vanilla in large bowl on medium speed of electric mixer until light and creamy. Combine flour, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture; beating at low speed until blended. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop dough by heaping spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 375F for 9 - 12 minutes, or until light golden. Makes about 36 cookies. Freezes well.
