Homemade Taco Seasoning
I use this recipe all the time for my taco seasoning, and you make it for just pennies . . . DG

1 Tablespoon Flour (or Cornstarch)
1 Teaspoon Chili powder
1 Teaspoon Paprika
3/4 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Cumin
1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne pepper
1/4 Teaspoon Garlic powder
1/4 Teaspoon Sugar
1/8 Teaspoon Ground oregano

Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl. Brown 1 pound ground beef** (I like to use this amount of seasoning for 12 oz. but it calls for 1 lb.) and drain the fat. Add spices & seasonings and 2/3 cup water, mixing thoroughly. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to low and cook uncovered until the liquid has evaporated and the meat has a saucy look, about 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

**I take 12-16 oz. of boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into 1/2” pieces and partially freeze them on a tray . . . then pulse them in a food processor into 1/4” or so pieces . . . then add this to the water and spices and cook as directed in the above recipe.
