Chewy Fruit Squares

1/2 c Softened butter or margarine
1/4 c Packed brown sugar
1 Egg
1 1/2 c All-purpose flour
3/4 c Coarsely chopped nuts
1/2 c Chopped dried apricots
1/2 c Raisins

In large mixing bowl, cream together butter or margarine and brown sugar using the Mixer at low speed. Blend in egg. Add flour and continue mixing until mixture holds together. Add nuts, apricots and raisins; mix until blended.

Spread mixture over greased jelly roll size pan and press dough down along edges. Bake at 325 for 25-30 minutes, or until done. Cut into squares immediately. Makes: 2 dozen 1-1/2" squares.
