SHONEY’S® WORLD FAMOUS HOT FUDGE CAKE
Another signature dessert consisting of vanilla ice cream between freshly baked layers of Shoney’s® famous chocolate cake, covered in hot fudge sauce, whipped topping and a cherry.



Cream:
1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
Add:
1/2 c. cocoa
2 eggs – mix well.
Add:
2 c. flour
Dash of salt
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. boiling water

Pour into prepared pan and bake at 350* F. until done.

Many cheat and use a devil’s food box mix – follow the box directions.

Sauce:
Melt a small pkg. chocolate chips (6 oz) and 3/4 stick butter over simmering water in double boiler. Add 1 box confectioners’ sugar alternately with 1 can evaporated milk – stirring constantly. Cook 4 to 5 minutes. Add 1 t. vanilla.

Slice cake in squares, split horizontally. Fill with a square of ice cream. Drizzle hot sauce over top. Top with whipped cream and a cherry!
