A&W Fries the old way!
Growing up as a child in the 70's my fav. was A&W fries. I can't for the life of me find out what those spices were they put on their fries back then. They stopped doing it and now their fries aren't the same. Evereyone I ask has no idea or they can't remember!!! Anyone know?????? Or know who I contact to find out?

they may be using a commercial product to save time and money - and don't forget - all the restaurants have had to change their oil/fats for frying because Big Brother said so. They all taste different now.

Re: A&W Fries the old way!
I used to work work in an A&W back in 1978 or 1979. When I lived in Willcox Arizona. Then we used a dehydrated potato. Not sure about the amount of liquid wss used but it was all mixed up and put into a press that would shoot out those little jems in the shape of FF's . I've been looking for this recipe for a long time. If you have a pastry bag with a desired tip on it it's likely you will achieve a very similar effect
