A twist on chicken wings

Chicken Wings with blue cheese dressing

Marinade: 1 cup of hot sauce (such as Frank’s), 1/2 cup of Italian dressing

3 pounds of chicken wings

Brushing sauce: 1/2 cup of hot sauce, 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) of unsalted butter, 3 tablespoons of cider vinegar

salt and pepper to taste

Directions: place the chicken wings in a large re-sealable plastic bag with the marinade ingredients. Let marinate several hours or overnight.

Remove the wings from the bag and discard the marinade. Salt and pepper the wings and place them in a pre-heated 350 degree F oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until juices run clear. Combine the second amount of hot sauce, vinegar and butter in a microwave to melt. Brush this on the wings and return to the oven for five minutes. Serve with the blue cheese dip and vegetable sticks.

Blue cheese dressing:1/2 cup of mayonnaise, 1/2 cup of sour cream, 2 ounces of crumbled blue cheese (about 1/2 cup), 1 clove of garlic (minced)

In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream and garlic and stir in blue cheese (dressing will not be smooth). Let sit in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight for the flavors to come together.

Blue cheese vinaigrette (salad dressing):1/4 cup of red wine vinegar, 1 large shallot (chopped), 1 clove garlic (minced), 2 teaspoons of Creole mustard (whole seed), 1/2 cup of olive oil, 1/2 cup of crumbled blue cheese
