Alphabet Pot Roast


3 to 4 lb. pot roast
Salt and pepper
1 can (10 3/4 oz.) alphabet vegetable soup, undiluted
1/2 c. dry red wine
1/8 t. dried basil
2 T. finely chopped parsley

Sprinkle beef with salt and peppr. Place in crockpot. In small bowl combine soup, wine and basil. Pour over meat. Cover and cook for 8 to 10 hours. Sprinkle with parsley. Slice meat and ladle sauce over.

If desired, sauce may be thickened with flour disolved in a small amount of water.
