Barbecue Meatloaf

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1/2 onion, chopped fine
1/2 bell pepper, chopped fine
1 egg
4 ounces tomato sauce
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Dried parsley and basil, to taste

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place all the ingredients in a large bowl. Mix gently. Shape the meatloaf by hand to fit in a baking dish with a lid.


12 ounces tomato sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon vinegar
2 tablespoons mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

In a small bowl, mix all ingredients well with 1 cup water, and pour over meatloaf. Bake the meatloaf for 1 hour and 15 minutes, removing the lid for the last 1/2 hour.
