Biscuit Pudding and Bourbon Sauce

In Shelbyville. Kentucky, there is a very fine regional restaurant called
Science Hill Inn serving Kentucky specialties in what was an old girls’
prep school… lf you are ever in the area, you must eat there. This is one of their most popular dishes.

Biscuit Pudding and Bourbon Sauce

10 Biscuits (1½” diameter)
1 qt Milk
6 eggs
2 cups of sugar
2 tbsp melted butter
½ cup raisins soaked in bourbon-(overnight or longer)

Break up biscuits in small pieces & put in large bowl. Add milk & eggs that have been beaten together w/sugar. Pour butter in a quart-baking dish and add pudding. Bake @ 350 for 1 hour or until set. Serve warm w/ Bourbon sauce.

Bourbon Sauce

1 stick butter (salted)
1 Cup of Sugar
1 egg
¼ cup water
1/3 cup of bourbon

In a heavy saucepan melt butter. Add sugar & water cook over medium heat for 5 minutes until sugar has melted. In a separate bowl beat eggs and add butter mixture from heat & gradually whisk w/egg. Add bourbon & serve.
