Bisquick Scotch Scones

Makes 12

2 1/4 cups Bisquick
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup cream
1 egg
1/2 cup currants, optional
Milk, if desired
Additional sugar, if desired

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients to make a soft dough. On a lightly floured board, roll or pat dough into a 12-inch by 8-inch rectangle.

  2. Cut dough into six squares; cut each square into two triangles. If desired, brush tops with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake 10 minutes. Serve warm.
