Black Forest Brownies

1-1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup butter
1 cup baking cocoa
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups sugar
1-1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 tsp. pure almond extract
1 cup maraschino cherries
1/2 cup chopped nuts

ICING:

1/4 cup butter, softened
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
2 cups confectioners sugar
6 Tbsp. baking cocoa
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup chopped nuts

Combine flour, baking powder and salt, set aside. In a large saucepan, melt butter. Remove from heat and stir in cocoa until smooth. Blend in eggs, sugar and extracts. Stir in flour mixture, cherries and nuts. Pour into a greased 13x9" baking dish. Bake for 35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted near the center comes out clean.

Fro icing blend butter, vanilla, sugar, cocoa and milk until smooth, spread over hot brownies. Sprinkle with nuts. Cool before cutting.
