Blueberry-Blue Cheese Dip

Makes 3 cups

6 ounces Maytag blue or Danish blue cheese, crumbled
1½ cups fresh or thawed frozen blueberries
8 ounces cream cheese
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
¼-½ teaspoon hot pepper sauce
½ cup finely sliced green onion, green part only
½ cup whole walnuts, chopped

Place blue cheese and blueberries in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the metal blade and blend until smooth, about 2 minutes.

Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the remaining ingredients. To give the flavors time to meld, cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour or as long as three days.
