Boiled Peanuts

I have made boiled peanuts before and they turned out good and bad. There are two important factors, for me atleast. The first is the amount of salt or sodium. The second is cooking time. I am pretty sure you must cook them anywhere from 6 to 8 hours. The amount of salt is questionable. I have never written down recipes, so when I did it right I couldn’t recall how much. When I didn’t do it right they were either over salted or under salted both of which makes for a terrible boiled peanut.

Does anyone know the right amount of salt to include in a batch of 1lb boiled peanuts?
