Bourbon Chicken (Like at the Mall)

Bourbon Chicken (Like at the Mall)

4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 ounces soy sauce
2 tablespoons dried minced onion
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
3/8 cup bourbon
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Place chicken breasts in a 9x13 inch baking dish. In a small bowl combine the ginger, soy sauce, onion flakes, sugar, bourbon and garlic powder. Mix together and pour mixture over chicken. Cover dish and place in refrigerator. Marinate overnight.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

Remove dish from refrigerator and remove cover. Bake in the preheated oven, basting frequently, for 1 1/2 hours or until chicken is well browned and juices run clear.

“Absolutely mouth-watering delicious”
“Tastes just like what they serve in Sunrise Mall”

If you have a problem w/ alcohol (alcoholic previous) what can you use in place of Bourbon for the flavor? I always wondered this when recipes call for alcoholic beverages. I know they say the alcohol cooks out but if someone is eating it that had a serious problem w/ alcohol I don’t think it is fair to them to use it. You can still taste the alcohol, the flavor of the drink. Can you give any suggestions to sub. alcohol in recipes and still get that great flavor?

Thankyou so much for your time and helpful advice,

3/8 cup less than 1/2 cup how to measure when all the measuring cups don’t have 8th, guess at it right

Use the 1/4 cup measure and tilt it so your liquid is at the level of the rim of the cup and where the side meets the bottom. That is exactly 1/2 of the 1/4 cup measure.

Rather than cook this in the oven can it be prepared on an outdoor grill?
