Brats with Saurkraut

8 bratwurst 1 ( 14 oz. ) can saurkraut, drained and rinsed 2 apples peeled and chopped fine 3 bacon strips cooked crisp and crumbled 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. chopped onion 1 t. dry mustard 8 buns, split
Place brats in bottom of crockpot. In a bowl combine other ingredients. Pour over brats.Cover and cook on low 6 to 7 hrs. To serve place brats on buns top with kraut mixture. Top with mustard and cheese if desired.
Polish sausage could be substituted for the brats.
Served with baked beans and french fries.
