Brownie Chocolate Cheesecake Bars

1 box fudge brownie mix
3/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1 package cream cheese, softened (8 oz.)
2 Tbs. butter or margarine, softened
1 Tbs. cornstarch
1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk (14 oz.)
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare brownie mix as package directs, mix in nuts. Spread into a well-greased, 13 X 9 inch baking pan. In mixer bowl beat cream cheese, butter and cornstarch until fluffy. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk, egg and vanilla until smooth. Pour evenly over brownie batter. Bake 35-40 minutes until top is lightly browned. Cool, chill, garnish as desired. Cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.
