1 medium onion, minced
1 T. butter or margarine
1 lb. ground beef or veal
3 c. diced cooked potatoes
1 1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. pepper
1/8 t. garlic salt
Pastry for double crust (9-inch pie)
Saute onion in butter; cook until tender.
Add meat; cook until browned, breaking up meat with a fork to keep it crumbly.
Stir in potatoes, salt, pepper and garlic salt; cook 1 to 2 minutes.
Roll pasty 1/8-inch thick; cut into 4-inch (diameter) circles.
Place 1 heaping tablespoon meat mixture on each round; fold over, pressing edges of pastry together with tines of fork.
Place turnovers on baking sheet; bake in preheated 450* F. oven for 12 minutes, or until golden.
