My husband is a retired mailman and he had an older Hungarian lady on his route that used to give him canned banana peppers but she blanched them and he thinks she fried them in oil before canning. We are going to try canning this year and I was wondering if anyone knew how to prepare the banana peppers by frying in oil first. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Jo Ann
My husband says he saw them in a frying pan but maybe they were frying them to eat that day. Do you roast them before you can then? If so, how? This is our first year as inexperienced gardners so any info will help. Thanks, Jo Ann
